Poverty level too high, APC gov, Badaru laments


Jigawa state governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has warned the newly sworn-in Commissioners and Special Advisers to work hard in order to stem out poverty level “that is too high in the state” according to him.


The governor who sounded the warning during the swearing-in ceremony that took place in the conference hall of the government house yesterday in Dutse said a lot need to be done to cushion down the effect of poverty level in the state.


According to him, the 11 commissioners and the 15 Special Advisvers sworn-in should gear-up to work immediately because, there is no time to waste, things need to be done appropriately.


Badaru said though the government has done a lot in the last four years, but still there are challenges in Agriculture, Health care, water resources.

“Even though there are remarkable progress achieved in other areas of human endeavour.”


The commissioners are Ibrahim Baba Cheichei Environment, Salisu Zakari Ministry of Commerce, while Dr Abba Umar Zakari Health, Kabiru Hassan Sugungun Ministry for Local  governments and Aminu USMAN Yakubu Works and Transports.


Others are Muhammad Alhassan Information and Culture, Babangida Umar Gantsa Finance, Hajiya Yelwa Da’u Tijjani Women Affairs, Lawal Inusa Danzomo Education, while Musa Adamu Aliyu Arthoney General and Commissioner of Justice, and Ibrahim Garba Hanungiwa for Water Resources among others.
