POWA distributes relief materials to 2, 000 flood victims in Kogi

The Police Officers Wife Association (POWA), in collaboration with Tolerance Group, has distributed relief materials worth over N25 million to over 2, 000 flood victims in Kogi state.

The wife of the Inspector General of Police and President of POWA, Hajia Hajara Alkali, who spearheaded the distribution of the items at Saint Luke Primary School on Friday, said the gesture was to ameliorate the suffering of the victims who had lost their houses and property to flooding.

While appreciating Tolerance Group for the show of love to victims of flood in Kogi state, Mrs. Alkali called on corporate organisations and spirited individuals to come to the aid of the victims.

“We sympathise with the victims who have been affected by the natural misfortune. The corporate social responsibility rendered by Tolerance Group is a sure way to ameliorate the suffering of the affected people in the state as it will complement the state and federal government support.

“I am earnestly calling on corporate organisations and spirited Nigerians both at home and abroad to emulate the kind gesture and support the Tolerance Group has provided to assist the flood victims in collaboration with POWA,” she said.
