Pregnant woman kills step son with pesticide in Osun



A 24-year-old pregnant woman, Musa Mariam, was Tuesday paraded by the Osun state police command for killing her 3-year-old stepson, Musa Rokeeb, with pesticide. 


The new Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, who paraded the suspects alongside others, said Mariam was the first wife to her husband. 


The suspect confessed to the crime, blaming her husband’s attitude for her action. 


She confessed that she bought pesticide (Rocket) and poisoned the child because her husband was showing more love and favour to the second wife because she had a male child while she(first wife) is yet to have a male. 


Police said the child was taken to Muslim hospital Ede where he died on December 31st, 2020.


The CP said the pesticide bottle with liquid content were recovered and promised to parade the suspect after completion of investigation.

Meanwhile, three persons, Aderemi Serif a.k.a Sungbengbe(32), Lawal Dauda (20) and Bello Taofeek (21) were paraded for the murder of Zakariyahu Abdulahi, an Hausa man, at Sabo, Osogbo, on December 24, 2020.


The police also paraded four persons, Garba Luk man Famous (31) Tajudeen Monsuru (30), Hamsat Akeem (25) for killing one Akanbi Adeolu, Alani Mutiyat, Akinloye anf many others. While a 37-year-old Awayewasere Yusuf, was held for buying human parts from the suspects and sell to people. 


According to the police, the decomposing and other parts of the victims in their possession were exhumed and recovered as exhibits. 


Others paraded for armed robbery and kidnapping are: Ismail Azeez (28), Usman Jamiu (21),  Idris Quadri (25),  Okanlawon Quadri (28).
