Liverpool will be looking to extend their lead at the top when they travel to face Burnley at Turf Moor. The Reds have won all three of their games so far, scoring nine goals and conceding three. They tackle a Burnley side who suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat to Sunderland in the League Cup in midweek, but their only league win so far was at Turf Moor against Southampton. The Clarets are however winless in their last four games against the Reds, and that record is unlikely to change.
Manchester City will entertain Brighton at the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens are two points behind leaders Liverpool having won two and drawn one of their three games so far. They will be the overwhelming favorites here as Pep Guardiola will expect his side to pick up a win before the international break. Gabriel Jesus, Benjamin Mendy and Leroy Sane are all injured, while Brighton will be without Florian Andone who begins serving a three match ban.
Manchester United will look to bounce back when they take on Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium. United suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, in a game which highlighted the fragile state of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s team. It didn’t end there as Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial both suffered injuries, and have been ruled out of this game. Southampton picked up a morale boosting win over Brighton, and will certainly give United some headache. Will it be enough to condemn the Red Devils to defeat though? That remains to be seen.
Chelsea will be eyeing back to back wins when they host Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge. Its their second straight game against a newly promoted side, having limped past Norwich 3-2 last weekend. Frank Lampard will now look to his side to pick up the points before the international break, but Sheffield will be keen to make an impression themselves. The Blades have won one game so far and are on the back of defeat to Leicester, but they still remain a formidable unit on their day.
Newcastle will be eyeing back to back victories when they host an out of sorts Watford at the Sports Direct Arena.
Crystal Palace will have a tricky tie on their hands when Aston Villa visit Selhurst Park.
West Ham will be looking to move into the top half of the table when Norwich visit the Olympic Stadium.
Leicester City will fancy their chances of a home win when Bournemouth visit the King Power Stadium.
Tomorrow, bragging rights will be up for the taking when Arsenal battle Tottenham in the North London Derby at the Emirates Stadium. Both teams come into the game on the back of defeat, with Arsenal losing 3-1 to Liverpool and Spurs suffering a shock home defeat to Newcastle. Neither manager will want to taste defeat before the international break, so a tense atmosphere is expected here. Although the Gunners are the home team, Spurs will be the favorites as they have lost just one of the last four games between them. They recorded a 2-0 on enemy territory last season, and with Harry Kane already amongst the goals, they will be confident of picking up a result. Arsenal have made good improvements to their team though and will certainly not want to suffer back to back defeats against top six rivals. Also, Unai Emery will be desperate to register his first League win against Mauricio Pochettino.
Wolves will target their first win of the campaign when they travel to face Everton at Goodison Park.
