Premium Pension woos NYSC

A Pension Fund Administrator (PFA), Premium Pension Limited (PPL), has revealed plans to target the youth in an eff ort to deepen the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), and widen its attraction. Th e Company’s Head, Corporate Communications, Paddy Ezeala, in a statement said in a bid to achieve the target, the fi rm paid a visit to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos. Th e Chief Marketing Offi cer, Kabir Tijjani, said the contributory pension scheme is most benefi cial and yields the most results on retirement if contribution is started early enough in one’s career, adding that gone are the days when pension was only associated with old age. He told the Youth Corps members that the fi rm has designed a campaign tagged, ‘Make it Happen’, which is geared towards promoting skills acquisition as a guarantee to the good life in future. “Our Make it Happen celebrates ‘Made in Nigeria’ businesses.

Th rough the campaign, we will promote and support youth corpers with entrepreneurial skills,” he said.He said the campaign is in form of a competition that requires entrants or participants to make a oneminute video displaying their business or skill. Th is video is then uploaded on Twitter or Instagram with the Make it Happen hashtag. Th e most inspiring of these entries after evaluation by a panel of judges wins a cash price of two hundred and fi fty thousand naira. Th ere are also other consolation prizes.

Ezeala said the company is complementing the Federal Government’s programmes emphasising entrepreneurship, skill acquisition and resourcefulness.He maintained that the state of the economy challenges everyone to look inwards, as there are immense opportunities, which only the resourceful and creative can see, adding that the most successful people today are those who have adopted measures to bring out the best in themselves. “Not even the quest for regular white collar jobs should preclude people from being resourceful and entrepreneurial. Th e future is brightest when you adopt the right mind set, and measures early enough including keying into the Contributory Pension Scheme,” he added. Premium Pension is one of the pioneers with regional offi ces and branches spread across Nigeria. Th e company manages 738,736 Retirement Savings Accounts (RSAs), and 46,941 retirees, and has paid almost N119 billion in retirement benefi ts, while having pension Assets Under Management (AUM) in excess of N460 billion.
