The Coalition of APC Support Group, an umbrella of all registered support groups of the ruling party has called on politicians across board to stop heating up polity ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The group specifically warned those aspiring for the office president, saying capable of derailing the focus of the APC led government from peacefully and successfully accomplishing the promise mandate to Nigerians before the expiration of it’s tenure.
Addressing a press conference Monday in Abuja, the national coordinator of the coalition, Amb. Lawal Mohammed Munir, said President Muhamadu Buhari was “working to continue to create and maintain conditions under which it will be easy for Nigerian People to live a decent life.”
While appreciating the APC national caretaker committee under governor Mai Mala Buni, the coalition said there is need for the party leadership “to work with the Coalition of APC Support Groups in all its relevant activities including mobilization during campaigns and any other activities of our great party, and harnessing our collective resources in our efforts to making it possible to ensure President Mohammadu Buhari’s Legacies beyond 2023.
“Coalition of APC Support Groups call on Nigerians, politicians and government appointees to avoid heating up the polity with 2023 election ambitions, particularly on the subject matter of the presidential election, as this is capable of derailing the focus of the APC led government from peacefully and successfully accomplishing the promise mandate to Nigerians before the expiration of it’s tenure and as not to destabilize our peaceful coexistence and unity.
“President Buhari is working to continue to create and maintain conditions under which it will be easy for Nigerian People to live a decent life.
“Coalition of APC Support Groups appreciates the National Caretaker Committee Chairman, His Excellency Mai Mala Buni for lending a listening ear to the plight and request of the Coalition of APC Support Groups and sincerely hope that actions would be expedited as we seek continuous cooperation of the party in all critical areas.
“Therefore, we call on all Nigerians, and indeed various political support groups under the umbrella of the COALITION within the party to give support to the APC Government by partaking in the ongoing nationwide membership revalidation and registration exercise and making sure they go out en masse to revalidate and register as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to sustain the enviable legacies of the APC led government of President Buhari. Similarly, All Progressives Congress members are advised to go to their wards and revalidate their membership registration.”
While lamenting the security situation in the country, the coalition “call on community Leaders, every citizen, State Government to collaborate the efforts of the Federal Governments by providing useful informations to government and security agencies to enable them deal with security situations accordingly.”
