Presidency to conduct census of ecological site in Nasarawa

After series of complaints by the government and people of Nasarawa state, a team of ecological experts from ecological fund office from the Presidency are expected in the state today.

 

The team, led by Umar Mohammed, would conduct census of ecological site across the state to have first-hand information on the ecological problem in the state.

 

Our correspondent reports that the experts were expected to visit places like Ungwar Galadima, off the Emir’s Palace, Lafia, where several lives were lost recently as a result of erosion.

 

They would also be at Tudun Kauri where state government had spent over N2 billion to construct water canal to reduce ecological problem in the state.

Other places to be visited, Blueprint gathered, are Ungwan Shau, Kilema, and other local government areas in the state.

When contacted, the Special Assistant to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura on Media and Publicity, Ahmed Tukur, confirmed the development.
