The transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan has really brought about socio-economic revolution capable of launching the country into economic giants in the next decades, the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) President, Dr. Abubakar Sadiq, has said.
He said Jonathan administration has achieved a lot in many areas that even its self – appointed opponents have testified to that.
The RTEAN president, who made the remarks in a chat with newsmen in his Abuja office over the weekend further said, areas that has recorded tremendous success under Jonathan, includes the education, health sector, the aviation industry, agriculture and Human resources development sectors.
Sadiq said, even in the area of security of lives and property, Jonathan administration is making efforts to ensure that the dreaded Boko haram insurgency in some part of the North – east is curtailed.
In the area of road transport, the RTEAN president commended the federal government for providing buses and saloon cars under the SURE–P programme across the country, which has gone a long way in mitigating transport difficulties of the ordinary citizens.
“We, in RTEAN, have reserved the gigantic strides of Jonathan administration in providing befitting transportation vehicles under SURE-P scheme as well as construction of roads in many parts of the country, hence our support for his re-election bid,” he said.
He appeals to Nigerians to acknowledge the leadership feats of Jonathan and accord support, especially at this crucial period of 2015 democratic elections.
According to him, since Mr. President has made up his mind to re-contest election, as that would enable the political parties to prepare well in advance.
Sadiq then charged all political actors, irrespective of party affiliations, to play the game according to the rules, without rancour or bitterness and with high sense of decorum and patriotism, so that the nation prospers.
