Presidential aspirant, Chris Emejuru dumps APC for ANRP

A young Nigerian presidential aspirant based in America, Chris Emejuru, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the newly registered Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP).

Emejuru, who had earlier announced that he will contest in the presidential elections in Nigeria in 2019, said his decision to leave APC was based on the party’s unfriendly youth policies.

In a statement the former presidential aspirant signed Wednesday and made available to Blueprint electronically, revealed that Emejuru had registered as a member of the ANRP.

The America based politician said he decided to resign his membership of APC in 2017 shortly after he publicly declared his intention to contest presidential election when he realised that the ruling party does not have room for youth to thrive.

“After formerly declaring my intentions on running for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2017 (Pending the Not Too Young To Run Bill), I knew I had to associate myself with a political party who shared my beliefs in transparency, in woman engagement, in youth participation, in a democratic process with sound results.

“After careful consideration, I came across a party which fits this description. A party of peace. A party for all citizens. The Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP). Founded in 2014 and recently registered.

“Although, I am no longer running for political office in this election, I want all those who have supported me since the beginning to know that with a party that is our own, all will be well.”

Emejuru also encourage all Nigerians, especially the youths, to join him in his new party where he said ambitions can be achieved easily.
