Presidential poll: In Adamawa, Bindow gave Atiku good fight – Oshiomhole

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has hailed Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla Bindow  of Adamawa state for taming the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at the just concluded presidential poll in the state.

Oshiomhole in a telephone call to the governor Tuesday said Bindow deserved a special recognition for suppressing the political influence of Atiku, the Wazirin Adamawa in his own state.

The APC chairman said the election result in the state had clearly shown that the governor was popular than Atiku .

“Governor Bindow deserves a premium card for this wonderful feat. He truly tamed Atiku in the state. Atiku could only garner just a meager 32,000 votes difference to President Buhari’s votes, which is a clear political homework of Bindow.

“In a state of 1.9 million eligible voters, the Wazirin Adamawa can only get 410, 266 votes in his own state compared to the president’s 378, 078 votes, whereas in Katsina, the president got a whooping 1,232,133 votes compared to Atiku’s 308,056 votes there.

“Nobody should underestimate the good work of the governor. APC is proud to have good leaders like Governor Bindow in the state,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Buhari / Bindow Campaign Council Caucus in Adamawa state has called on the people of the state to discountenance a statement credited to Ambassador Aminu Iyawa that the governor connived with the PDP to give Atiku an edge at the just concluded polls.

The group in a statement issued by its Secretary, Dr Umar Duhu, questioned Iyawa’s moral qualification to level such weighty allegation against Bindow, who it described as loyal APC member.
