President’s return: Redouble your efforts, lawmakers tell Buhari

Some members of the Lagos state House of Assembly have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to redouble eff orts at fulfi lling campaign promises following his return from medical vacation. Th e lawmakers, who make the calls in interviews with journalists in Lagos, expressed gratitude to God for safe return of Buhari from London, after 100 days away. According to them, the return of the President is a good omen for the country, especially the masses who stood by him while he was away.

Th e Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy, Publicity and and Security, Hon. Tunde Braimoh said: “We thank God for the arrival of Mr President, it portends a very great hope and good omenfor the country. “Now that he is back, a lot of grounds must be covered, we want him to reciprocate the love and confi dence repose on him by the citizenry. “A lot of Nigerian were patient, prayerful and wished him well all along. Now that he is back eff orts should be redoubled to make lot of Nigerians much better, life should be more abundant for the people. “Th ere must be enough infrastructures, enough facilities and enough policies that will make the people happy and feel the impact of his government. “Hunger must be banished, people should have real life and have food on their table. Hospital should function, roads should get better, schools should work and economy should be revived. “Th e president must work hard to justifi ed the confi dence and love reposed on him by the people of Nigeria.” According to Braimoh who represents Kosofe II, the President remains a lucky man who is enjoying a lot of love and admirations from people. Also speaking, Hon. Segun Olulade, the Chairman, House Committee on Health commended the President for heeding medical advice. Olulade, representing Epe Constituency II at the House urged the President to work hard to fulfi ll all the campaign promises. It would be recalled that Buhari left Nigeria on May 7, for the second round of his medical treatment in London after receiving 82 rescued Chibok school girls who were abducted by the Boko Haram sect in 2014.
