Principals laud el-Rufai over schools renovation works

Principal of Rimi College, Kaduna, Mrs Altine Ishaku Dauda, has lauded Governor Nasir el-Rufai for changing the face of the school through the ongoing road construction and renovation of 23 classrooms, six laboratories and five hostels.

The acting Principal, Government College, Kaduna, Malam Bello Fih, also commended governor el-Rufai for turning the citadel of learning to a modern institution with the infrastructural development ongoing in the school.
The two heads of colleges in separate interviews also lauded Farmtrac Nigeria Limited for its quality jobs in their schools especially the road network and drainages which they said are akin to roads constructed by foreign companies.

According to Madam Altine, “Rimi College has changed. I want to thank Governor Nasir el-Rufai for taking Rimi College into heart. There is no school where you will find the type of projects in Rimi College. When I came as Vice Principal, Rimi College was porous with many exits but now we have a fence with one gate and security men. Erosion washed away our roads, but now we have good road network, good drainages.

“The school administration block, 23 classrooms are under renovation, five hostels have been completed and nice dining room. Common room is under construction, and work is ongoing on our six laboratories. Doors, windows, and new roofings, 700 chairs and tables have been provided.

“We don’t have good road before, but Farmtrac Nigeria Limited is now constructing the road. I’m very very happy with what the company is doing. Among the contractors handling projects in Rimi College, Farmtrac is the best, with very quality work. When I go to inspect the road work, I’m very happy with what I see. I rate the company highly. He is doing the work according to his plans and according to government standard.”

Mrs Dauda however urged government to hasten the ongoing work on Government Girls Secondary School Kawo that was burnt last year to enable their students, who have been moved temporarily to Rimi College, return back to their school.
“Our students were moved to LEA Ungwan Kudu, which is quite small for us, but once GGSS Kawo moved back to their school, we will also return to our school,” he said.
Also speaking, head of Government College, Mr Bello Fih, said, “Government College is now wearing a new face, many projects have been carried out and some are ongoing. Phase one include renovation of blocks of classes with terrazzo flooring, renovation of science laboratories. Phase two include the administration block where work is on final stage.

According to him, “Formerly, there was no good road network, but now work is ongoing on the College road network. Farmtrac work is like work by foreign company. We really appreciate the quality of work. It’s a job well done, he is doing quality solid work, the drainage, the surfacing, the work is fantastic.”
