Members of the Progressives and Northern Governors’ Forums Friday paid a condolence visit to Hajia Hawawo Bello, mother of the Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello over the recent death of her daughter.

The spokesperson of the Forum and governor of Kebbi state, Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, said their visit to the nonagenarian was to console and sympathise with her over the death of her daughter, Hajia Rabiat Bello, on December 23, 2019, after a protracted illness.

The Forum prayed to God to grant her soul eternal rest and fortitude for the family to bear the irreparable loss.

The chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum and Plateau state governor, Barrister Simon Bako Lalong, expressed the sympathy of the Forum to the family and prayed to God to grant it the fortitude to bear the loss.

He said the leadership of the Forum stands with Governor Bello and his family at the moment of their grief.

Responding, Hajia Hawawo thanked the governors for finding time to come to condole with her family, saying that such visit would not be taken for granted.

She prayed to God to continue to grant the governors in Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari the wisdom, understanding and wherewithal to continue to provide the needed leadership for the country.

Also speaking, Governor Bello expressed gratitude to his colleagues for standing by him as well as his family in their grieving moments.

He said after the earlier visit of the chairman of the Forum to his residence in Lokoja, he did not expect further visit of the entire Forum again, but thanked them for their “show of brotherliness, solidarity, and camaraderie.”
