Projects execution: KACCIMA urges public private partnership

Kano state Chamber of Commerce, Industry Mines, and Agriculture (KACCIMA) has stressed the need for public private partnership in projects execution as a matter of priority through other funding alternatives offered by such partnership.

In a communiqué signed by the Director-General of the Chamber, Malam Tijjani Aliyu, at the end of a two-day retreat organised by KACCIMA, in Kano yesterday, KACCIMA also emphasised the need for public enlightenment and sensitisation on the benefits to be from the partnership in business to business and business to governments.

KACCIMA urged governments to be compassionate and considerate in their drive for revenue generation “to checkmate the negative consequences associated with the closure of businesses which would trigger and generate more unemployment and insecurity.”

It also called for the review of government’s policy on multiple taxations “which invariably lead to the closure of so many businesses in Kano,” stressing that government should critically look into the provision of workable solutions to street-hawking.
