The proprietor of Blessed Martins International Institute of Science and Technology, Comrade Chinedu Ogah weekend said he would reduce the of migration of Ebonyi state origin to other states in the country in search of menial jobs such as hawking and wheelbarrow pushing.
Ogah, disclosed this during the maiden matriculation of over 200 students of the institution at Ohatekwe, in Ikwo local government area
According to him, the institution has given adequate answers to those challenging expectations of our fathers, adding that students who graduate from the institution had no difficulty in getting jobs because of the high quality of teaching and learning provided by lectures.
“The constant migration of our young students to cities of the country to do menial jobs has blackmailed the entire Abakaliki region as a clan who depends on hawking, digging of septic tanks, and wheelbarrow pushing for survival.
“It is our expectation that the school would provide such individuals the opportunity of redefining their future and erase the mentality and bad impression on our people especially here in Ikwo.
“Therefore, the institution being the first private higher institution in Ikwo local government area is positioned to entrench social norms and values in our children and prepare them in all ramifications to compete favorably with the society.
“We are proud to state that our effort to revamp the ailing state of education in the country has brought fulfillment of the expectations and dreams of pure forefathers.
“Our forefathers did not dream of a society where our children who managed to finish their school after a long period of hustling and suffering could not be gainfully employed because they cannot defend their certificates, he said.
Earlier in his address, the institution’s rector, Emmanuel Nwankwo, who reiterated that the school has zero tolerance on cultism and examination malpractice, noted that the vow they made was for them to be responsible and committed to true values of their professions.
