Protest in Osun over non-payment of entitlements by Oyetola

Some retired teachers in Iwo, Osun state, Monday took to the street to protest non-payment of their entitlements by the state government.

They chanted different anti-government songs to press home their demand for pension and gratuities.

According to the elder statemen, the state government has been holding on to their pension since 2016.

They carried placards of various inscriptions such as: “Oyetola pay us our money”, “Oyetola This Suffering is Too Much”,  “Oyetola Stop lieying”, among others.

Led by Comrade Okunlola Joseph Oludare, the protesters who are members of the Osun State Contributory Pension Retirees, said they paid their Contributory duly while in service.

“Some of us are sick. Some have died because they can’t afford food. Schools are resuming now and our children will remain at home because we can’t afford to pay school fees,” they lamented.

They said, “this government need to stop telling the people of Osun that they have paid pensions, when in the real sense, they have not paid.

“You will see N100 billion in the news, yet we don’t get paid, so who are they paying?, they queried.
