Provide soft loan for youth entrepreneurs, don urges FG

Prof. Babalola Chinedum Peace, the Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Abeokuta Wednesday urges the federal government to provide soft loan facilities for the teeming youths to utilise their entrepreneurer skills

The Vice Chancellor made this call during a press conference held at the University campus in Abeokuta to kick start the institution’s second convocation ceremony.

She added that the federal government needs to do more in developing the entrepreneurial and intellectual skills of the youth while linking them up with the private sector who will be end users of their intellectual property.

She further urged the government to link education with entrepreneurship, adding that this would change the narrative of joblessness amongst the youths and would in turn make them self-reliant.

The erudite professor’s argument was that there is also need for public- private sector partnership to boost the educational system of the country.

In her remarks, the African Union Commissioner for Human Resource Science and Technology,  Prof. Sarah Anyang Agbor who is to speak as the guest lecturer at the convocation, commended the educational system in Nigeria, adding that for education to continue to thrive in the African society, African leaders must do a strategic linkages between the academic and the private and public sector.

“For education to continue to thrive in the African societies, we need to do a kind of tripartite actions, tripartite strategic linkages between the government and its policies, the academic and the private or the public sector

“The quality of leadership brings about sustainable development and therefore, sustainable development brings nation building  so we need good leadership that will put into consideration the important needs of the youths which is education” she said
