SEB to commence work on G.S.S Kabusa permanent site

Chairman, FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB), Hon Yahaya Musa Muhammad, has said work would soon commence on the permanent site of Government Secondary School, Kabusa.
A statement by SEB Public Relations Officer, Sarah Odugbo, yesterday in Abuja, said the chairman disclosed this during a formal visit to the Chief of Kabusa Community, Yohanna Koche, to solicit for support and immediate solution to decongest the overpopulated school, which is the only school in the community.
She said Muhammad, whose intervention to the lingering issues of compensation is coming after several attempts by past board authorities to get the cooperation of the community, noted that structures and facilities at the old site had been overstretched.
“Education holds the key to any meaningful social and economic development. I urge the community to make it a priority above any other interest because no nation can achieve meaningful development without education of its citizens. Education of the children should be paramount because it is a great asset to them as parents, community and nation at large,” he said.
The chairman, who frowned at the delay that has been experience on the work over the years, disclosed that many applications for the establishment of senior secondary schools from various communities were pending.
While appealing to them to set aside anything that would deny the community access to quality education, he reiterated the FCT Administration’s commitment towards making education accessible and affordable to all residents.
Earlier, Koche said he was impressed by visit and show of commitment by the chairman, just as expressed appreciation to the Minister for FCT, Malam Musa Mohammed, for his visionary leadership.
The chief explained that Kabusa community was desirous of FCT Administration’s assistance in many ways including scholarship for their children, establishment of a college of education and other infrastructure development.
