Puff Adder II deployment’ll strengthen security, dislodge criminal in FCT

The FCT Police Command, Wednesday, received 150 police officers deployed in the recently launched “Operation Puff Adder II” by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu.


Receiving the operatives at the Command Headquarters, Abuja,  the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT, CP Bala Ciroma, said the deployment would strengthen security, dismantle and dislodge all criminal within the territory.


Ciroma who said the operatives were drawn from the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, and Special Forces, expressed confidence that the operation would reinforce the on-going counter kidnapping operations.


The Police boss said the command would anchor on the operation to foster community policing and collaboration with sister security agencies in the FCT, even as he urged operatives deployed within the FCT to be professional, firm, dedicated, civil with law-abiding citizens and ruthless to all criminal elements.


The IGP had launched Operation Puff Adder in 2019 to fight the kidnapping along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway and other parts of the North.
