Puff Adder: Police arrest 17 suspects for kidnapping, recovers 7 vehicles in Ebonyi

The Ebonyi state Police command Friday paraded 17 suspects for kidnapping, cultism and car snatching in its ongoing operation puff Adder across the state.

Parading the suspects at the police headquarters Abakaliki, Commissioner of Police, Awosola Awotinde said on 19th May, 2019 one

Chigozie Okpara, 33, a member of the kidnapping gang was arrested at Nkwegu Army Barracks Mammy Market by crack Operation Puff Adder detectives.

“The suspect made useful statement to the police and investigation took the Policemen to Enugu state where the kidnapper’s kingpin and other members of the gang were arrested at different locations in Enugu state. They are Chinedu Okorie, 31,  Chibuzor Onyia, 30, Agbo Emmanuel, 31, Taoreed Folawewo, 39”, he said.

He listed items recovered from the gang to include; one locally made revolver pistol with live AK 47 ammunitions, one expended Ammunition used during the operation and a total of seven vehicles allegedly stolen by the suspects; Toyota Corolla with registration number NCA 990 AA, Mercedes Benz S320 with registration number AQ 01 AAA, Toyota

Avalon XLE with registration number ENU 302, QE, Toyota Corolla with registration number MA 08 APP, Innoson Jeep with registration number

NKE 719 EV, Ford Escape with registration number FGE 415 TN and Honda Odyssey with registration number ENU 905 RA.

Awotinde who said the suspects will be charged to court, called on owners of the stolen vehicles to come forward with genuine proof of ownership for identification and collection.
