PVC: INEC decries empty chairs in Lagos office

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has decried the empty chairs at its Lagos office on Tuesday, meant for prospective registrants of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

Confirming this, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, lamented that as at midday, Tuesday, the set of chairs for prospective registrants were empty and there was no potential registrants in sight at the state headquarters, off  Herbert Macaulay way, Lagos Mainland.

“… Nobody showed up to register, following the extension of the Continuous Voter Registration,” he decried.

Although some industry watchers have posited that the persistent rain in Lagos since Monday must have caused the lull on Tuesday.

INEC had last weekend on the expiration of the earlier date set out for CVR coupled with the surge by youths who clogged the commission offices to register and collect their PVC extended date for the exercise
