Aliyu Askira writes that the controversial Kannywood star, Rahama Sadau is to drag MOPPAN to court over her illegal expulsion out of the industry.
Controversial Kannywood and Nollywood star, Rahama Sadau, is putting finishing touches to seek legal action against what she termed her illegal suspension from Kannywood by leaders of Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN),
In a statement from India where she has gone for a business trip, Rahama, who is a Higher National Diploma student with Kaduna Polytechnic, where she also obtained Diploma in Business Administration. said in her Instagram that people should take a look at the hip hop video visuals which she appeared alongside Classique that there was nowhere she cuddle, hug or commit any immoral act in the musical video. After all, there are other members of Kannywood who in the past have committed worst things than what she did and nobody has ever raised a finger against them.
What happened to her, she added, is the handiwork of those who are not wishing her well in life because before now, she had several brawls with some members of Kannywood. She was even suspended on some occasions and since then some enemies of progress have been monitoring all her activities to ensure that they pull her down.
Recently, when she went to Lagos to shoot a film in Nollywood alongside prominent stars like Majid Michael, some people started writing all sort of criticisms against her over her role in the film which is yet to be out in the market.
It could be recalled that after a meeting by all guilds and associations under MOPPAN in Kano, the secretary of the association, Alhaji Salisu Muhammad Officer issued a three-page statement expelling Rahama Sadau indefinitely from Kannywood, with a strong directive that any producer that give her job again will be penalided.
On why MOPPAN did not invite Rahama to defend herself before taking this harsh decision, Salisu Officer told Blueprint that this is not the first time Rahama is breaching the ethics and code of conduct of Kannywood which is under MOPPAN. Sometimes ago, she almost pull down Kannywood when she engaged herself in a serious fight with Adam Zango, that incident has cause a serious crack in Kannywood, she was later suspended.
Narrating that before then, there were other allegations against her over her behavior and she had to personally write a letter of undertaking to leaders of MOPPAN in which she pledged to be of good behavior. In the letter, she clearly stated that if she breach the code of conduct of Kannywood again, the body is free to give her severe punishment to the extreme, and it was based on that that the industry allow her to continue appearing in films.
After that, apart from the fact that she appeared twice in the past before the disciplinary committee of the industry, she went to Lagos and did a film in Nollywood. Leaders of the industry decided to look the other way round, and again she recently featured in a musical video by Classique where she was seen hugging, cuddling, and doing all other immoral acts with him in the video, forgetting that she is a Muslim and a prominent actress in Kannywood where such acts are not allowed that is why she has to be expelled permanently from the industry.
Investigations by our correspondent indicates that the whole saga started when one of the stakeholders of MOPPAN and Kannywood, Alhaji Nura Hussain, posted the said video which Rahama appeared with Classique on the social media and called for her immediate expulsion from the industry. But another version has it that some female actress in Kannywood who are jealous of how Rahama became famous and rich, are the ones putting pressure behind the scene for her to be expelled.
Recently, there was a report on the social media that Rahama, whose father is from Igabi local government of Kaduna state while her mother is Fulani from Gombe, is reported to have fleet of commercial vehicles in Abuja and more than N40 million in her account. But she told Blueprint that when she saw the report, she only laughed and prayed that it should be true, noting that actually she is not faring badly financially. She recently even went to IDP camps and donated food items to them including money and clothes with the assistant of Adamu Zango.
Some members of Kannywood who are very close to Ali Nuhu told Blueprint in Kano on Tuesday that when Rahama had a problem last year with Zango, Nuhu used his connection and influence within Kannywood to ensure that Rahama survive the fight, but to everybody’s surprise, reports from Grapvine has it that she later had a secret romance with Zango to the extent that she posted on the social media describing Zango as her best friend and one of most decent gentleman she ever come across.
On why MAPPON did not punish Nuhu, Zango and Sani Danja for some of the films they featured in Nollywood, there are pictures all over the internet showing Ali Nuhu kissing and hugging Nollywood female actress; Zango has videos where girls virtually dancing naked; same thing with Sani Danja, Officer has this to say: “Recently, after the election of new leaders of MAPPON, we have decided to past behind us and draw a line but with a strong provision that henceforth, any members of Kannywood that commit or breach our code of conduct will be punished severely. What Rahama did came after they issued this new resolution, as such, that is why they punished her without giving her chance to explain herself.
