Friends of President Muhammadu Buhari have donated over 30 trucks carrying bags of rice to the citizens of Bauchi state.
Former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, who facilitated the donation to the state made this known Wednesday while flagging off the distribution of the foodstuffs at ‘Double 4 centre,’ Bauchi.
Represented by the member representing Bauchi local government federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi, the former speaker said the gesture was meant to bring succour to the people of the state in this fasting month of Ramadan.
He said the group tagged ‘Friends of Buhari’ consists of farmers, business merchants and politicians who are lovers of the president and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said Bauchi is the second home state of the president considering his popularity among the people and the support he received there in the past elections.
“These items were facilitated by the former Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, to the people of Bauchi state. He nominated me and three other people to head the distribution committee,” he stated.
