Ramadan: Cleric tasks Muslims on peaceful co-existence with non – Muslims

A Muslim cleric, Fadilat Sheikh Abdulrahman Adangba, has tasked Muslim faithful across Nigeria to learn to live in peace and harmony with non- Muslims. He described as great virtue and value of Islam.

Sheikh Adangba was speaking as a guest lecturer at the 5th Annual Ramadan Lecture & Iftar organised by Hon. Rasheed Makinde, representing Ifako-Ijaiye II at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

“God created all of us and we all belong to him – Muslims, Christians and Jihadists. If he doesn’t need the Christians or the traditionalists he would have killed them by himself. How come you are the one killing on behalf of God?

“We must learn to live in peace and harmony with everyone around us, tolerance is a great virtue,” he said.

In his admonition to the lawmaker and other politicians at the lecture, he said, “Learn to forgive and correct, instead of forgive and forget. If you only forgive and forget, the wrongs would accumulate and you will eventually revenge.

“Always try to make peace. There will always be factions under you as long as you occupy position. Learn to absorb criticism. There should not be politics of acrimony.”
