Ramadan: Foundation donates food items to orphans, widows

ZAAIDA Aid Foundation yesterday donated bags of rice to over 70 widows and orphans as part of efforts to alleviate their suff erings, particularly in the spirit of the Holy month of Ramadan. Founder of the Foundation, Hajia Zainab Jibrin, in her remarks, said the Foundation “since inception three years ago, had organised programmes for assisting the less privileged.
She said: “For the past three years, we have organised this kind of programme where the little we have from wellmeaning individuals, we donate to the orphans, their guardians and widows. “We intend to make it bigger in the future; hence our appeal to spirited individuals and organisations to come to our aid so that we can touch more lives. “At the moment, we have enrolled 10 orphans in Islamiyya to study the Qu’ran; we also have plans to enrol them into formal education as soon as Allah blesses us as a Foundation.
” Earlier, in their various speeches, the village head of Rafi n Guza, Alhaji Abubakar Adamu, Mau Ungwa Alhaji Gambo Kaboja and former Education Secretary of Kaduna North local government, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, commended the founder for her magnanimity and prayed God to bless her. Earlier, Alhaji Mohammed Sani who gave a short sermon on the importance of taking care of the orphans and widows, said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” stressing that “those who take care of the orphans or widows, particularly in the month of Ramadan, get their rewards tripled.” Two of the benefi ciaries, Hafsat Abdullahi and Aishat Ahmed, thanked the Foundation for the guest
