Ramadan: JIBWIS frees 49 inmates in Jos, Kaduna, Lafia, Kano

The youth wing of Jama’atu Uzalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) over the weekend said it has freed not less than 49 inmates out of Nigeria’s correctional centers during the month of Ramadan.

National chairman of the youth wing, Ustaz Murtala Idris Malwa, stated this at the end of this year’s 9th annual national youth Ramadan lectures, themed; “Peaceful coexistence and Muslim leadership,” in Jos.

He said part of the activities and mandate of the JIBWIS youth wing, is to visit correctional centers, preach to the youth to understand their core values as human beings.

“We have visited correctional centers in all states of Northern Nigeria, except those of Borno and Yobe.

“We were also in Cross Rivers and Rivers states. And we have besides preaching and providing some support, also paid for the release of some inmates out of the correctional centers of Jos, Lafiya, Kaduna and Kano respectively,” he said.

The group’s national chairman council of Ulama, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, admonished those in position of leadership to fear Allah in the discharge of their duties.

“Allah will surely hold each and every person accountable of his stewardship.

“Not only the president would be asked to account for his deeds, governors, ministers, permanent secretaries, directors, office messengers, traditional rulers, and even husbands and their wives shall be asked to account on their deeds,” Sheikh Jingir said.
