As the holy month of Ramadan gets closer, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has charged Muslims in the country to imbibe the tenets of Islam in order to foster unity and peace among the citizens.

Acting Director, Kogi state Directorate of the agency, Malam Mohammed Othman  Abdullahi, who gave the charge in a Ramadan message  issued to newsmen in Lokoja yesterday, advised Muslims in the state and the country at large to remain Godly and to extend the hands of fellowship to others irrespective of religious differences.
According to him, “it is the practice of the holy Prophet Muhammad to spread the tentacle of love, care and benevolence to his neighbours, especially the needy ones to make the society a better place for all.”

Abdullahi also enjoined Muslims to use the season to pray fervently for the state and President Muhammadu Buhari’s health and the country at large to “so that God will intervene in the affairs of the country.”
He prayed that the spirit of the 30 days of Ramadan fasting would draw the love of God to “our nation, especially now that the nation is passing through economic recession and insurgency in some parts of the country.”
