Ramadan: Seek God’s intervention 0n security challenges – Fintiri

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has felicitated with the Muslim ummah in the state, Nigeria and other parts of the world on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, with a charge to utilise the period to pray to God to bring an end to the security challenges bedevilling the country.

The governor’s message is contained in a press statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou and made available to journalists in Yola, urging Muslims faithful to abstain themselves from pleasures and become closer to God for abundant reward from Allah.

“Ramadan is a period of sacrifice and renunciation as well as reflection and spiritual grow; it is also a powerful symbol of unity with Muslims around the world fasting simultaneously. Let us use this blessed Ramadan period to abstain from pleasures and pray fervently to God to bring an end the security challenges bedevilling the country and seek God to guide the nation’s leaders in the act of governance,” he said.

According to him, Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam and the most sacred month of the year in the Islamic culture, which capable Muslims fast for the period of 29 or 30 days; hence the need for all Muslims to repent and renew their commitments to God for abundant blessings and mercies abound in this holy month.

Fintiri further admonished Muslims to use the Ramadan period to strengthen brotherliness among them and assist the needy in the society and promote peaceful co-existence in the state.
