Ramat wins Best Chairman award as IAWPA hosts end-of-year dinner

The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) will be celebrating its 2022 End-of-Year for Eminent Peace Ambassadors with a Special Dinner Banquet in Lagos State on Thursday next week.

A statement signed by the International Spokesman of the association Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, said the celebration is in honour of His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos state, in view of the success of his first term in office and for the way he handled Covid-19 pandemic and EndSARS agitation in Lagos.

The statement also noted that his administration has put Lagos on international map as a state with viable economic growth and sustainable development.

He said it is for these reasons that the governor is billed for the award of the International Eminent Peace Ambassador with derivative benefits.

The statement by said the association, whose aim is to promote and track states with sustainable development across the 193 member states of the United Nations, has identified Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano state, under the Leadership of Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat as the Executive Chairman, as the Best LGA in Nigeria and in President Mohammadu Buhari led administration and also the Best Performing LGA Chairman in West Africa.

Nkweke said that the award on Hon. Abdullahi Garba Ramat is a well deserved honour “considering the number of projects that are people oriented, which his administration has executed using council budget that are not equal to what other LGA chairmen are receiving yet with nothing to show for it”.

He said Ungogo LGA will be the first LGA in Nigeria to witness SDG Local Volunteering Review LRV.

“The projects and programmes executed under the Leadership of Hon. Abdullahi Garba Ramat are reflective to the realities of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals which has made us proud to bestow on him the twin awards,” he said.
