Re: Niger monarch shoots subject dead

It has become imperative for us to set the record straight on the above subject matter.

The crisis emanated from the dispute between Eppa community and Etisheshi an area in Mokwa town, Niger state.

A youth from the Etisheshi area was invited by a magistrate court but he refused to appear after the fifth summons, prompting his arrest .

The youths from Etisheshi suspected Alhaji Muhammadu Shaba Aliyu, the Ndalile Mokwa, of being behind the arrest of the youth leader and invaded the palace of the traditional ruler with matchets, guns and other sophisticated weapons threatening to kill him .

With death staring in his face, Ndalile Mokwa, in an act of self-defense to save his life, shot the gun in the air to disperse the rioters.

It should be noted that vehicles and motorcycles worth millions of naira were destroyed and burnt before the protesters made their way to the palace of Ndalile Mokwa.

There is no authenticated medical record that shows Mohammed Jiya, the boy that lost his life, died of gun injury.

As a believer in the rule of law, we are confident that with the case in the court of law, the truth would be established.

We are also using this medium to task the federal government to establish a mobile police base and a military barracks in Mokwa town as the security personnel in the town are inadequate.
