Re: Nigeria still crawling @62

In my article that was published in the Blueprint newspaper, one of the independent, transparent national dailies in Nigeria, on Friday, 30th September, 2022, it’s unfortunate that the last paragraph of the piece was riddled with typographical errors.

In the piece, it was written in the conclusive part thus: “We expected change for good in 2005, yet it was not achieved. We were still bamboozled in 2019, yet we haven’t found none. 2033 is fast approaching, should we expect good change? Is this how Nigeria, the acclaimed giant of Africa, will be moving like a snail or crawling like a baby in term of development?”.

Meanwhile, I wanted to write, “we expected change for good in 2015, yet it was not achieved. We were still bamboozled in 2019, yet we found none. 2023 is fast approaching, should we expect good change?…”

According to 1999 constitution of Nigeria, the fixed term of office is four years. Buhari gained power in 2015 and luckily he was re-elected in 2019 and he was expected to vacate Aso Rock in 2023. That’s the explanation.

Consequently, I tender my sincere apology to the reading public for inundating them with errors.
