The Department of State Services (DSS) has raised the alarm over a fraudulent Facebook account purportedly set up for the Service 2019/2020 recruitment.
DSS Public Relations Officer, Dr. Peter Afunanya, who raised the alarm in a press statement, Monday in Abuja, warned job seekers against falling prey to the fraudsters.
It reads in part: “This is to inform the public about the fraudulent activities of one Jesustofunmi Nifemi Alabi, who has created a Facebook group, SSS/DSS Recruitment 2019/2020 to deceive gullible job hunters.
“Alabi is the CEO/Chairman of Tunrok & Son Nigeria Limited and uses phone number: 08112597703.
“The service is not recruiting and does not own a Facebook account or operate other social media platforms. Job seekers are enjoined to make recruitment enquiries from the Service’s Headquarters, Abuja, its formation nationwide or official website; www.dss.gov.ng.”
Further investigation by Blueprint indicated that Jesustofunmi Nifemi Alabi account holder, who claimed to be graduate of University of Ghana also claimed to be from Osun, Oyo, Nigeria, another indication that the account may have been set up for fraudulent purposes.
