Recruitment: Navy cautions applicants against fraudsters

The Nigerian Navy has cautioned intending applicants for enlistment and recruitment into the Service to be wary of fraudsters.

Navy’s spokesperson, Commodore Suleiman Dahun who gave the warning Friday in a statement, said the Nigerian Navy had “not delegated or directed anyone/organisation to collect money on its behalf for any enlistment/recruitment exercises.”

The statement reads in part: “The attention of the Naval Headquarters has been drawn to the activities of some fraudsters that are collecting money from unsuspected and innocent Nigerians to purportedly help them to join the Nigerian Navy.

“For avoidance of doubt, the Nigerian Navy is not charging any money for all its enlistment and recruitment processes.

“Furthermore, it has not delegated or directed anyone/organization to collect money on its behalf for any enlistment/recruitment exercises. Hence, members of the public are hereby strongly warned to desist from patronizing those fraudsters who are all out to syphon money for their selfish agenda and self-aggrandisement.”
