Register vocational courses alongside course of study, VC charges students 

The vice chancellor of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) ,  Professor Olayemi Akunwumi, has charged the newly admitted  students of the institution to register for a vocational skill alongside their course of study.

He assured that  the students  will be certificated at the end of third year.

Professor Akunwumi gave the charge in his address at the matriculation ceremony of the new intake held at the Adankolo campus, Lokoja.

He said: “The aim of this is to reduce waiting period for employment after graduation and it may even become the graduating student’s main occupation after leaving the university.”

He also revealed the plans of the university to make admission into the institution a 60/40 in favour of sciences and mathematics as against Arts courses.

A total of 3584 students swore the oath of matriculation in the 2021/2022 academic session.
