I regret supporting Okorocha in 2011 – Umeh

Former National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Senator representing Anambra Central, Victor Umeh, yesterday described Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha as a trickster who deceived people in getting entrusted with power.
The reality of which he said , made him regretted , supporting Okorocha in winning the governorship seat of Imo state in 2011 on the platform of APGA under his national chairmanship.
“Okorocha is a trickster and a “419” who found his way into office through fraud and deception; little wonder he is about to make history in Nigeria as the only governor that impeached two deputies,” he said.
Umeh stated this in Abuja while addressing journalists on recent attacks launched on him by Okorocha, where he described Umeh as a non performing lawmaker.
The former APGA chairman revealed that the Imo governor attacked him because he advised him not to impeach Chief Eze Madumere, his deputy, having impeached his first deputy, Chief Jude Agbaso during his first tenure.
He said: “Rochas Okorocha is about making history in Nigeria as the only governor that impeached two deputies and because I advised him against impeaching the current one, he started attacking me.
“I regret supporting him to become a governor of Imo state against all odds.
I didn’t know he is a trickster and a ‘419’’ who found his way into office through fraud and deception.” The Anambra Central senator further claimed that he personally signed the agreement that brought Okorocha to power but regretted he later discovered that the governor was a trickster.
He also accused Okorocha of attacking religious leaders and elder statesmen in Imo state, threatening that he would publish his fraudulent transactions if he continued to make uncomplimentary comments against him.
“Here is a man who was answering ‘chair sir’, ‘chair sir’ to me in 2011 be- fore emerging governor, even in the presence of my Police orderly, who has been working with me in the last thirteen years but on getting to office, he suddenly changed, became a tiger and was attacking everybody.
“I have documents of some of his fraudulent practices and if he continues attack on me, I will publish them,” he threatened.
