Release our CEO, Galaxy workers appeal to EFCC

Staff of Galaxy Transport and Construction Services are lamenting the continuous detention of the  Engr. Babagana Abba Dalori, the Executive Director of the company, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over non-payment of his clients.


In a statement signed Wednesday by Cletus Enejo on behalf of the management staff of the company, explained that the EFCC arrested Dalori following a petition by some of their clients who are disgruntled by the inability of the company to settle their payment as a result of several factors. 


The management stressed that it is therefore untrue that Dalori’s detention was based on fraud and running of phantom schemes,  saying that it is at stake is that their company could not meet its obligations to its clients within the time expected of it for reasons beyond it as explained above. 


According to the management, it is on record that their company runs a legitimate transportation and construction services business in over five states in the country with its headquarters in Abuja for the last nine years, that their relationship with clients ever since has remained fundamentally civil where both parties benefit from the proceeds of the businesses they do. 


“Since commencement in 2010, the company has never defaulted its obligations to remit what is due to each of its investors. It is on record that even when the country was in recession in 2016 and 2017, our company did not fail to meet its obligations to pay its clients and business partners. 


“It is therefore rather sad that our company is facing this trial at this point after it has enjoyed a steady growth and built strong relationship with its investors. Notwithstanding the fact the company’s management is working round the clock to overcome the challenges. 


“It is sad that it has already caused serious worries in the minds of our clients and affected our cordial relationship. It is as such necessary to explain the reasons we are unable to pay our clients since October 2018,” he said. 


He explained that challenges of the company came as a result of flood in Jere, Kaduna state, the company lost its largest dredger at its sand mining site overnight,  which was recovered in Minna, Niger state, after extensive search, that the current of the flood washed away millions of Naira worth of sand stored at the site. 


“When the company’s technical staff and consultants assessed the recovered dredger and other equipment, most of them were destroyed and could not be put to use any more. 


“However, in order to restore operations, the company ordered the procurement of new dredgers immediately. Unfortunately despite our swift and decisive action, the shipment and installation took longer than anticipated. They are however already installed and as we speak, full operations have commenced since March,” Enejo said.
