Remain committed to service delivery, board tasks FCT principals

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Secondary Education Board has charged principals of senior secondary schools under its management to remain committed and focused in the discharge of their duties for all round academic success.
Accordingly, the board informed the principals of the steps in place to reduce and control the school congestion during admission, adding that the directive should be complied with, avoid further challenges encountered.
Chairman of the board, Musa Yahaya Muhammed gave the advice during the joint meeting of the management of the constituted board and school heads ahead of the new academic session resumption.
He noted that the new academic session should be used to strategise in order to enhance the teaching and learning process while sustaining the quality of the structures already put in place.
Muhammad reiterated that it is expedient for the school heads to do the needful and right the wrongs for effective education in the , adding that a lot is expected from them as they resume and not to take their work for granted, adding that no stone should be left unturned.
He further urged them to be vigilant of their environment and pay adequate attention to what is happening around them, reminding them of the recent tremor experienced in some parts of the FCT.
The Board chairman also advised for concrete steps to avoid unforeseen incident, keeping in mind that they have been entrusted with school age children.
He warned against arm chair principals, as no part of the schools with perimeter fences should be left without daily supervision by the school heads.
He added that the school principals should take the welfare and care of students under their custody as a priority and put fruitful efforts in place to ensure their safety at all times.
Speaking earlier, the acting Director, Mrs Nanre Emeje, said the new academic session comes with high expectations to deliver good results hence the need to continue to remould the child for a brighter future.
