I remain grateful to Akwe Doma – Al-Makura

Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has said that he would continue to remain grateful to the state’s former Governor, Aliyu Akwe Doma, even after his death for “his fatherly advice, support and loyalty” to him as a Governor and his government.
This was contained in a statement issued yesterday in Lafi a by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Musa Elayo.
The governor also called on the indigenes to emulate Akwe Doma’s good virtues of hospitality and patriotism.
He said the late former governor contributed immensely to the development of Nasarawa state when he played a significant role during the struggle for its creation.
Al-Makura described him as “a true Nigerian icon and statesman” whose life and times were worthy to remember and prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased and give the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
The statement added that the Andoma of Doma, Aliyu Ahmed Ogah, thanked Governor Al-Makura for the support and assistance rendered to the deceased’s family
