Rep builds 25 boreholes for Kwara constituency

A lawmaker, Mohammed Omar-Bio, representing Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency of Kwara, has provided 25 boreholes to solve the water scarcity facing the constituency.

The motorised and hand pump facilities spread across communities in Baruten and Kaiama Local Government Areas that make up the constituency.

Speaking on the project, Omar-Bio said he decided to embark on the project within the short period of his stay in the National Assembly because of his genuine desire to propel sustainable growth and development of the constituency and its people.

“Before this intervention, the two local government areas that share boundaries with the Republic of Benin always experienced acute water shortage, particularly during the dry season.
“It has become necessary and inevitable to prioritise and address the problem faced by our women and children, particularly those in the remote communities, during the dry season.
“We cannot afford to treat this major challenge with kid gloves. We must stand up to the challenge.
“We are aware of the enormous task, but this is our covenant with the people.”
The lawmaker promised that “more dividend of democracy will be delivered to the doorsteps of the people.” (NAN)
