Reps APC caucus endorses Buhari for 2019

Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives, expressed support for an unopposed return of President Muhamadu Buhari for second term.
Making the position known after a meeting of the Caucus which lasted for hours yesterday, Deputy Speaker of the House, Yussuff Lasun said “we have in principle, endorsed Buhari as our sole candidate for the elections”, adding that when the date for the primaries is announced, they will go there and present Buhari as their consensus candidate.
On the blockage of the National Assembly recently by men of the DSS Lasun said as members of the APC in the House, “we condemn what happened, and support the removal if the Director General of the DSS.
The Caucus has also described as unfortunate, the political colouration given Tuesday’s blockage of the National Assembly by masked men of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Recalling a similar development in the past, Majority Leader of the House, Hon.
Femi Gbajabiamila at the briefing, said the opposition stood with the party, and so it should be this case.
“We all stand together to defend democracy.
When we have an incident like this in the past, our colleagues in the PDP stood with us.
“We are appealing to all, especially our colleagues in the PDP not to use this unfortunate development to malign our party.
The APC is not involved, the President is not involved”, Gbajabiamila said.
According to him, the Caucus has resolved to urge for a thorough investigation into the matter with a view to unraveling “ who is involved”.
