Rerun: Senator Adeyemi vows to restore image of Kogi West

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kogi West rerun election, Senator Smart Adeyemi, has vowed to restore the battered image of the district if elected on November 16.

The Senator, who is vying against the incumbent Senator SDino Melaye, therefore appealed to the electorate to vote him in the 16 senatorial election, which was scheduled by court order.

Adeyemi, who stated this Thursday in Lokoja, urged the people not to elect misfits and people of questionable background into public position of authority.

The candidate described politics as a serious business that must not be left in the hands of charlatans and street fighters, accordingly, he stressed that the people can no longer afford to submit their collective destiny to a trouble maker.

“Let’s not vote for people of questionable background who will disgrace our senatorial district. We cannot leave our senatorial district in the hands of someone who has no solid moral foundation of life, or a drug addicts, or someone with questionable family background and characters.

“I will redeem the image of Kogi West, and serve you with dignity. A vote for the APC,  is a vote  for development. Vote for me because I am a man of proven integrity.

“I went to the National Assembly and returned with a national honour. My antecedents as a legislator and former NUJ President speak for me. I will correct the mistakes and character of a man that claimed to represent us.”

He, however, urged the people of the senatorial district to defend their vote to avoid a repeat of the manipulation of 2015 and 2019.

While enumerating his achievements as a two-term senator, he said if given the chance he would do more to eradicate poverty and attract more development to his constituency.
