The leader of Pan Yoruba socio political organisation, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo has declared that Nigeria needs to be restructured back to federalism .
Speaking at the unveiling of Odu’a Foundation Advisory Council weekend by the chairman, Odua Investment Company’s group chairman, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, Pa Adebanjo stated that returning the country back to federalism is the only way forward for Nigeria.
Pa Adebanjo said there is the urgent need for Nigeria to be restructured back to federalism considering the present situation in the country.
“Until this country is restructured back to federalism, we will not be able to do more than what we are doing and that’s why it is the duty of all the governors to insist on the restructuring of this country back to federalism, so that every region can develop at its own pace”, he said.
Expressing disappointed on the governor of the South-west region for not doing enough to improve the region by not following the steps of first premier of the old Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Pa Adebanjo said, Odu’a lnvestment Company limited ” is one of the investments the Action Group(AG) did while one of the policies of the party is egalitarian society to create a society where no one will be suppressed, where there is opportunity for everybody to get to the top and make free education compulsory as well as free scholarship for 200 since 1954.
Pa Adebanjo lauded the management of Odu’a group for sustaining Awolowo’s legacy saying, “I can’t miss anything related to Oduduwa. So, I want to thank all you directors of Odu’a Investment Company Limited (OICL) because you are inheritors of a good heritage, God bless you for establishing the Odu’a Investment Foundation (OIF).”
Unveiling Odua Foundation Advisory Council, group chairman of Odu’a lnvestment Company limited, Otunba Ashiru tasked the council to focus on Youth Empowerment, Education and Health care.
