Th e Middle Belt Patriotic Front (MB-PF), has kicked against the appointment of Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-rufai, as chairman, Restructuring Committee by the federal government. Th e group in a press conference yesterday in Jos, Plateau State, condemned the appointment of El-rufai, saying has no heart of repentance, when he was a minister. cer, Samuel Yusuf Hamman, it said it supports restructuring but is against Governor El-Rufai leading the federal government committee because he lacks the moral backing.

“He (El-Rufai,) has no heart of repentance, when he was a Minister, he has insulted Imams, Pastors and a lot of People,” Hamman stated. According to him: “they sponsored Arewa youth to agitate,” and “It is morally wrong for the Igbo youths to violently agitate for Biafra, and calling us as Hausa, Fulani, as Northerners, we are not Northerners, we are Middle Belters”. Th e group said, they are saddened that attacks on their communities have continued unabated by Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen terrorists, adding that the federal government which has the monopoly of use of legitimate force has failed to put it to decisive use. It said: “We call on the world community to note stream of federal delegations to Taraba State on the 8th crisis in the state this year alone. “But the only reason it attracted these delegations is because the Fulani herdsmen/terrorists were victims. We have taken judicial note of their scolding and unscathed warning to Taraba State Government. “Th e global community should also take note.

It should be noted that this is the same government that could not send delegation on any of the countless killing that took place in plateau; southern Kaduna; Benue; Ile-lfe; Enugu; Borno; Adamawa; Potiskum; etc.” Th e group stressed that they await to see similar streams of federal government delegations to Kaduna State; who will issue stern warning to the governor and threat of declaration of the state of emergency, “more than Gov. Darius who is a saint; Gov. El Rufai’s cup is too full given recent killing of 37 of our people in his state. Th is is a good litmus test for the federal government.”
