Contractors handling Kogi state Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) projects have been directed to return to sites in order to complete ongoing projects as specified by the contract agreement.
The special adviser to the governor on SDG, Hon Nasir Isah Ohiani, who gave the charge at a meeting with indigenous contractors and stakeholders in Lokoja Tuesday, stated that the call has become necessary owing to the fact that the present administration under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello believe in competence, diligence and professionalism.
While stating the need to adhere strictly to specifications, the special adviser cautioned the contractors to eschew shoddy implementation of the contract awarded.
He said, “The consequences for those who were found wanting in that regard would be dire and any contractor who do not meet the contract specification would be blacklisted and the contracts would be revoked.”
Ohiani assured the contractors that the state government is sensitive to their plight adding that measures are being put in place to ensuring that they are paid their money.
Speaking on behalf of the indigenous contractors in the state, Mallam Usman Abdullahi thanked the state government for initiating the interactive meeting and pledged their unalloyed support to the state government.
