Hundreds of man hour were lost Tuesday in Kaduna as motorists and passengers were locked up in traffic gridlock for many hours as a result of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Kaduna.
President Buhari was in Kaduna to attend the 2019 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference at the Trade Fair Complex along Kaduna – Zaria road, and commission the upgraded 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.
The gridlock started as early as 8:30am in the morning with motorists plying the Kaduna Zaria highway, the Kaduna – Mando road as they had to park to allow the August visitor have free movement in the city.
The motorists plying the Kaduna main thoroughfare, the Kawo – Isa Kaita – Ahmadu Bello Way dual carriageway leading to Sokoto road up to the Kaduna Polytechnic road leading to Tudun Wada were also affected.
The road construction taking place in parts of the metropolis also added to the challenge as there were no alternative routes.
