Four months after leaving office as Senator for Benue South Senatorial District, former Senate President Senator David Mark is still carrying out empowerment for indigents in the Senatorial constituency.
Senator Mark was in the Senate from June 1999 to June 2019 ( 20 years ) , eight of which he occupied the position of Senate Presidency from June 2007 to June 2015.
In furtherance of his responsiveness to the people of Benue South on Saturday , no fewer than 300 men and widows in Otukpo , Benue state , received social empowerment tools from in one way or the other.
The beneficiaries who got hospital beds, generators, grinding and sewing machines, cut across the nine local governments areas of Ogbadibo, Ohimini, Okpokwu, Oju, Obi, Otukpo, Ado, Apa and Agatu.
Distributing the items, Senator Mark urged the beneficiaries to deploy the equipment to maximum use; improve their wellbeing and by extension help their neighbours and communities conquer poverty in the land.
Represented by his wife, Helen, Senator Mark noted that the project was facilitated by the Sustainable Development Goals under its 2018 programme to help alleviate poverty in our communities.
He reiterated that he will continue to contribute to the wellbeing and development of Benue State and Nigeria at large in or out of public office.
Senator Mark noted that in his 20 years sojourn in the Senate, “ I strives to impact on our people and communities positively chief of which is the facilitation of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo.
