Revenue allocation: Yobe govt, RMFC meet to correct identified anomalies

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMFC) are in yobe state for a 3-day interactive meeting to correct application indices base on the approve revenue allocation formula.

Leader of the delegation Salamatu Mohammed said, with complaints received from most of the federation account beneficiaries on factors arbitrary application and proxies in sharing of revenue from the federation account, the Commission finds it necessary to ensure the correct application of indices based on the approved revenue allocation formula.

Bala stated that the Commission deem it necessary to embark on this exercise in line with its mandate as required by law to correct identified Anomalies.

“This exercise is not intended to audit the finances of the state or Local government Councils but to compare what was disbursed at the federal account with what the states are actually entitle to.

“The aims is to assist in identifying any irregularities, misapplication revenue to application of indices in respective to the indices used in sharing revenue to the beneficiaries of the federation account,” she said .

Earlier in his welcome address, Governor Mai Mala Buni said represented by the Secretary to Yobe state government, Baba Malam wali, said the Commission is responsible for providing necessary indices and allocates what the states are getting.

He noted that the exercise is very important to the state and will work on the state reports and record from 2019 to date .

“We will provide all the necessary information in record for them so that we can know what we are support to be getting and what we have not be gotten from revenue from the federation account, ” he said.
Buni assures the delegation of support through out the exercise in the state.
