Revive New Nigerian newspapers now

I have always shed tears of the unnecessary stoppage of producing, publishing processing the New Nigerian newspapers since 2004 – 2007 to date. New Nigerian Newspapers was established by Sir Ahmadu Bello, the first premier of Northern Nigeria, during the first republic. New Nigerian had been the mouthpiece of the North from 1960 – 2004 and 2007. The said stoppage of its production was the worst thing that ever happened to the people of this region which now has 19 states.

The Arewa Consultative Forum from 2018 to date does not care about the North hence the actual peasants derive nothing tangible from the said Northern elders who reside in Kaduna. The former Kaduna mafia has done nothing to bring back New Nigerian Newspapers to streets.

Since the closure of the New Nigerian Newspapers, I have not heard any northerner ever calling for resumption of the New Nigerian Newspapers. I equally accuse the 19 northern state governors for not bringing back such institutions. The northern governors should as a matter of urgency revive the said vital printing house, New Nigerian Newspapers.

The recent call by the spokesperson of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) Malam Ango Abdulllahi for Fulani to come back, is uncalled for, hence Nigeria is for all and each and every Nigerian has the constitutional rights to live his life anywhere in Nigeria. To this therefore we should not heed to that call, should Nigeria remain of one entity.

I call on the Kaduna state Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i to urgently meet the management of the said outfit for the immediate re-opening of the New Nigerian Newspapers, please.
