Senator Chimaroke Nnamani (PDP Enugu East), has tasked Nigerian youths to rise up to the challenges of leadership in order to chart a new course for good governance in the country.

Nnamani who stated this through a statement issued to commemorate 2022 International Youths Day, urged the Youths to take leadership responsibilities through the democratic processes just as he reminded them of the need for inter-generational collaboration to tackle global issues.

In doing so, he told them to deploy their energies, intellects and skills towards positive engagements.

He acknowledged the exploits and accomplishments of Nigerian youths in many fields of human endeavours especially in science and information Technology and asked them to put their knowledge into positive ventures.

He believes that Nigerian youths have the solutions to the myriads of socio- economic and political challenges if given the opportunity.

He however cautioned against criminal activities or vices that could undermine their pursuit for excellence saying “there are many  decent ways of earning a living without involving in any illegal activities”.

The United Nations declared August 12 every year as international youths day to address global issues concerning youths and advocated that “to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs), the world needs to leverage the full potential of all generations”.
