The 319 ward chairmen of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Rivers state have said they had dissociated themselves from the purported press conference addressed by one Mr. Lucky Ekubuogu in the name of Forum of APC Ward Chairmen in the state.
In a statement issued in Port Harcourt Friday by the ward chairman of Degema local government area, Mr. Benjamin Ebiolem John, they chairmen said the purported press conference by Mr. Lucky Ekubuogu and his cohorts on April 25, 2023, in the name of Forum of Ward Chairmen, APC Rivers state, was never the agreement of all ward chairmen in the state.
The statement added that whatever was stated in the purported press conference represented his personal opinion and not the collective stand of the ward chairmen.
“We, the 319 ward chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC), do hereby condemn in totality and also dissociate ourselves from that press conference and its resolutions.
“We, the ward chairmen, are law-abiding citizens, and we are mindful of the fact that the issue concerning the suspension of the chairmen and legal adviser of our party is a subject of litigation and is yet to be determined; therefore, we will not dabble into it or take sides until the matter is resolved in court,” the statement read in part.
